New Webmail System Introduction

New Webmail System Launch

We have migrated to a new Webmail System.  As long as you've gone through the password reset process, you should be able to access Webmail with your FSI username and password like you always have.

If you are having trouble logging into the New Webmail system, and haven't been through the password reset process yet, please login to the Student/Staff login area from the IFSI main site www.fsi.uiuc.edu and follow the password reset Instructions that appear on the screen.  Please email techhelp if you need assistance.

If you have our current Webmail site set as a favorite or bookmark, you will need to delete it.  The new direct link to Webmail will be —>  https://webmail.fsinet.uiuc.edu

Some key Differences between the old GroupWise system and the new Exchange system:

- One thing you will notice that I will apologize upfront for, is that your folder listing will be re-arranged in alphabetical order.  This is Microsoft's way of doing things, and unfortunately I don't have anyway of controlling it.

-  There is a full featured version that has few more bells and whistles, and then there is a "light" version which is better for users still on a dial-up modem or slower connection.  You have your choice at the login screen as to which one to use.

-  The address book is in the top right hand corner of the screen next to the options section.  Click on the book icon to browse the Global Address book to find people.  You can also easily find anybody in the organization by using the search field besides the address book icon.

-  One thing that Outlook does different from GroupWise is by using what is called "Contacts".  Think of these as separate from the Address book.  They act as kind of a digital Rolodex good for storing phone numbers and entries from the address book that you want to access quickly.
