Quick Hit Training

One key to a successful fire attack is to get a quick knock on a fire. In many cases this must be accomplished in a short period of time with limited personnel. “Quick Hit Training” works on the same premise. With limited time and manpower in mind we are providing short training segments that can viewed by an individual or a group of emergency response providers. These training modules will concentrate on skills and knowledge that are important for both new and seasoned responders. Each module is ideal for new or review training. We hope you can fit this method of “Quick Hit Training” in your daily training schedule.

We encourage you to regularly visit this area of Virtual Campus for additional training modules in the future.

To get you started we are presenting a training module on Modern Wood Building Construction.

As you all know, in the past thirty years the development of modern wood products has changed the way buildings are constructed and therefore how they burn and collapse. The following several training modules educate you on these changes and tactical considerations for modern wood constructed buildings.

The best sequence for your “modern wood” training is to follow the links below in their order listed.

1. AF&PA Awareness Level Firefighter Training for Modern Wood Products

2. IFSI Floor System Tests.

3. IFSI Street Smart Modern Construction Considerations for Firefighters.
