Interlibrary Loan

If you borrow an item through Interlibrary Loan, the IFSI Library will send the item to your library. Your local library will contact you when it is received and loan it to you. When you have finished with the item, you return it to your library and they mail it back to us.

There are two options. Choose the one that is most convenient for you.

Steps for Option 1:

1 Call IFSI Library first ( 217-333-8925 or 1-800-437-5819) with your local library card number;
2 IFSI Library will forward your request to your local library;
3 Your local library will notify you when it receives the item;
4 Return the item to your local library when you finish with it .

Steps for Option 2:

1 Call IFSI Library first ( 217-333-8925 or 1-800-437-5819);
2 Contact your local library for a FAX request;
3 Your local library will notify you when it receives the item;
4 Return the item to your local library when you finish with it .

Due to the recently-passed Illinois Public Library Non-Resident Services Act, IFSI Library users who do not live within the boundaries of a library district are eligible for library service based on school district boundaries. Fees may be charged for non-resident library services.

The law is available online at http://www.ltls.org/boardpackets/apr2002/non-residentrules.pdf. Please let us know if you have any questions

Both the lending and borrowing libraries must comply with the Copyright Compliance Guidelines (sect. 108 (g)) of the U.S. Copyright Law and all other provisions that may apply.
