Purpose:
Provide a site for conducting firefighter training that is easily available to fire departments in Western Illinois. This should improve access to training, and help reduce costs, thus enabling more firefighters to receive training. Help build better cooperating and understanding between fire departments.

Location:
2233 Veterans Dr. (on the old state hospital grounds) in NE area of Galesburg.

Facilities:

• 3-story smoke building (for SCBA, hose, search, ladders, company evolutions)
• Roof simulator
• "Saving Our Own" prop
• Railroad tank car & assorted Haz. Mat. props
• Confined Space simulator
• Classroom

Use of Facilities:
ISFI intends to schedule classes at the RTC on a regular basis. These will be announced throughout the area. (Some will be at no cost, and others will have a modest fee).

The facilities are available for use by area fire departments for their own drills. Arrangements must be scheduled through the Galesburg FD (Prior T-T-T training in proper use of the facilities is required).

The facilities are not available for use by organizations which are charging for classes, without prior approval by IFSI and the Galesburg Fire Department.
