4 Hour Classes - All classes being given in the am and pm!

LOOKING AT SMOKE TACTICALLY (LAST)-classroom
The class is designed for you to develop an understanding of the properties of smoke.  You will learn how to read smokes:  volume, velocity, density, and what the color of smoke means to your strategic and tactical decisions on the fire ground.

 

TAKING COMMAND of STRUCTURE FIRES-classroom
The class is designed to assist you in the development of first in company officer size-ups.  Confirming Address.  Occupancy & Construction.  Define smoke conditions.  Assuming Command, Fast Attack, Investigate Mode.  Where and how to commit the first line and implementing the incident command system.

 

FORCIBLE ENTRY AND HAND TOOLS-hands-on
Need to know how to adapt your body mechanics to perform forcible entry?  Learn how to use hand tools and power tools to gain entry into structures.  Establish tool proficiency and confidence through hands-on training.  This is a hands-on class that requires NFPA-Compliant protective clothing to include: helmets, lined coats, boots, gloves, and eye protection.

 

SCBA MAZE BASIC (AM ONLY) & SCBA MAZE ADVANCED (PM ONLY)-hands-on
The AM class offers you the opportunity to maneuver through small spaces in created smoke conditions to gain more experience and confidence using your SCBA.  The PM class offers you the opportunity to overcome obstacles and rescue victims.  This is a hands-on class that requires NFPA-Compliant protective clothing to include:  helmets, lined coats, boots, gloves, and a SCBA.

 

RIT-hands-on
Learn how to perform rescues through hands-on practicals using the Denver Drill, ladder bail outs, the Nance Drill, and other firefighter drags.  This is a great opportunity to practice how you would handle the worst case scenarios that you may encounter during your career as a firefighter.  This is a hands-on class that requires NFPA-Compliant protective clothing to include:  helmets, lined coats, boots, gloves, and a SCBA.
